Men's Mental Health
"Men are not hard-ass assholes by nature. They are wounded people who were never given the tools — or the permission — to deal with it. Both are there for the taking."
I am not a therapist. I am not an expert. What I am is a man who spent forty-nine years not dealing with the thing that was shaping every decision, every relationship, every wall I built. And I am telling you this because if I had found a site like this when I was thirty, or forty, things might have looked different for the people I love.
The drinking. The anger. The silence. The inability to be present. The people pleasing. The sex. The drugs. These are not character flaws. They are symptoms. The root is always deeper. And the root is always survivable.
I wish I knew then what I know now. I can't fix that. So I built the page I needed at thirty, and I am putting it where the next man can find it.
01
You Are Not Alone
Whatever you are carrying right now — the shame, the anger, the thing you have never said out loud to another person — other men are carrying versions of it. You just can't see them because they're hiding the same way you are.
02
The Wall Isn't Strength
The wall you built to protect yourself was built by a child who had no other tools. It kept you safe then. It is costing you everything now. Understanding that is not weakness. It is the beginning of something.
03
The People Around You
The women in your life. Your children. They are not asking you to be perfect. They are asking you to be present. To show up. To mean what you say. Fixing yourself is not just for you — it is for them.
04
Find a Room
A men's group changed my life. Not because anyone told me what to do — because I sat in a room where men said the unsayable and nobody flinched. Find your room. It exists. The door is harder to open than you think and worth more than you can imagine.
05
Get a Therapist
A good therapist is not someone who tells you what's wrong with you. They are someone who sits with you while you find out for yourself. It took me nearly fifty years to sit in that chair. Don't wait that long.
06
The Journey Is Long
This does not get fixed in a weekend retreat. It gets worked on, every day, for the rest of your life. That is not a bad thing. It means you are alive and paying attention. Some days the weight comes back. You keep walking anyway.

I am not qualified to give mental health advice. What I can tell you is what worked for me: a good therapist, a men's group, and one woman who refused to let me keep running. If you are in crisis right now, please call SADAG on 0800 456 789. They will not judge you. That is what they are there for.
